Clermont Garden Club members toured Agri-Starts, Inc. located in Apopka, Florida, with owner, Randy Strode, on February 20, 2019.
Agri-Starts is a culture lab with the ability to produce millions of fruit, ornamental, and flowering plants. Randy Strode won the Environmental Award for saving water at his nursery. Randy’s son, Ty Strode, has guided the nursery toward an environmental approach causing very little water waste.
Agri-Starts is in partnership with Orange County Public Schools to employ disabled youths.
Agri-Starts is licensed by Florida Foundation Seed Producers, Inc., University of Georgia Research Foundation, Inc., and University of Arkansas System Division of Agriculture.
